Bartending in Peru

DESCRIPTION: Working in Peru was incredible. I wish I could have stayed longer. The bar was really fun, and the job was fairly easy although definitely got a bit hectic some nights. I met a lot of cool people because the hostel was very international. I was able to practice my Spanish and when I wasn't working, explore the area. My shifts were 5 hours a day, 5 days a week. I learned to make drinks and run bar activities.

TOP TIPS: My advice from this trip is to consider traveling alone if you are a Spanish student. I think being alone pushed me to practice Spanish much more than I would have if I had been with a friend. My Spanish improved a ton on this trip, and I learned a lot from working at the bar. I learned how to deal with drunk people, how to make drinks, use the charging system and so much more. I also learned a lot from all the people I met. People from all walks of life come to the hostel and everyone is really friendly, so it's really cool to be able to get a little snap shot of everyones lives.
