Trip to Egypt

DONE BY: Ayesha P | Stanford U. '21

LENGTH: 2 weeks

LOCATION: Luxer, Cairo, and Effu

DESCRIPTION OF WORK/ACTIVITIES DONE:

Traveled with family (especially memorable moments include: cruising up and down the Nile & meditating in the King's chamber in the pyramid at 6am)

TOP TIPS:

I know independent traveling is very important and common especially for those taking a year off--but also, Egypt was not a safe place to be by myself. Especially in countries where you don't know how they operate and don't know the language--be sensible given the context of the place that you're visiting and keep personal safety in mind.

MOST MEANINGFUL LESSON TAKEN AWAY:

It's a place that I thought I'd never visit, but it's one of the best places that I've been. Seeing civilizations that are 5000 years old and yet have physical remantns was extremely cool.
