LENGTH: 5 months

LOCATION: Philadelphia, PA

FUN: ★★★★★

PERSONAL GROWTH: ★★☆☆☆

KIND OF PERSONAL GROWTH MOST EXPERIENCED:

  • Acting like an adult
  • Taking on responsibility in a professional environment

DAY-TO-DAY LIFE:

8am-2pm: work

DESCRIPTION OF WORK/ACTIVITIES DONE:

I was helping to train various working dogs such as search and rescue dogs, police dogs, diabetic alert dogs, medical alert dogs, etc. The best part was pretending to be a person stuck in a collapsed building and having dogs pull me out!

HOW MANY HOURS OF WORK DID YOU DO PER WEEK? 24

TOP TIPS:

I'd definitely recommend taking on an internship that has nothing to do with what you might want to do as a profession later on. Use this time to learn about something completely new but really interesting!
