HOW OPPORTUNITY WAS FOUND: Older brother also took a gap year and worked at the same place; grandmother's friend's son knew the boss of the ski resort

DAY-TO-DAY LIFE: 

*A day's schedule would depend on what shift you have. Some of the shift schedules were: 

  • Work from 9am-5pm, go out with other workers 
  • Ski in the morning, work during lunch time, ski a bit in the afternoon, work during the evening
  • Ski during the day, work from 4:30pm to midnight/1:00am

TYPES OF WORK/ACTIVITIES DONE:

Help cook/wash dishes/serve food, work as a bartender, ski 

 IN EXCHANGE OF  44-50hrs  OF WORK/WEEK, PROVIDES: 

  • 3 meals/day, every day

TOP TIPS: 

1.     Be prepared to work hard. Try to befriend someone who is in charge of an evening job--like the person who fits boots--so that you can work at night and ski all day 

2.     Focus on skiing
